Adaptant becomes a member of the European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO)

Brussels and Munich, December 21st, 2016

Based on the results of the board meeting on December 19th, Adaptant has been formally ratified as a member of the European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO), a cPPP (contractual Public Private Partnership) focused on Cyber Security created earlier this year.

Adaptant principally intends to contribute thought leadership in the area of personal data usage control, ensuring that pre-normative standardization activities in this area are closely aligned with on-going work in CEN Workshop 84 on a ‘Self-Sovereign Identifier(s) for Personal Data Ownership and Usage Control’ (CEN WS ISÆN), of which Adaptant’s CEO is Vice-Chair. Closer alignment with CEN/CENELEC on pre-normative standardization activities will similarly be sought.

Adaptant further intends to ensure that cross-cutting issues deriving from human-centered data management and innovation are adequately considered by the European Commission in the upcoming 2018-2020 work programme through domain contributions to the emerging ECSO Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA). Through its involvement in the Big Data Value Association (BDVA cPPP), Adaptant will further seek out greater alignment between the initiatives in the areas of data protection, privacy, and business model innovation – both at the SRIA and general policy levels.
