Adaptant Labs is pleased to announce that it has acquired a new Horizon 2020 project – SODALITE (SOftware Defined AppLication Infrastructures managemenT and Engineering) under the ICT-16-2018: Software Technologies call, set to begin early next year.
SODALITE will provide application developers and infrastructure operators with tools that (a) abstract their application and infrastructure requirements to (b) enable simpler and faster development, deployment, operation, and execution of heterogeneous applications reflecting diverse circumstances over (c) heterogeneous, software-defined, high-performance, cloud infrastructures, with a particular focus on performance, quality, manageability, and reliability.
SODALITE will directly support the Digital Transformation of European Industry through:
- increasing design and runtime effectiveness of software-defined infrastructures, to ensure high-performance execution over dynamic heterogeneous execution environments;
- increasing simplicity of modelling applications and infrastructures, to improve manageability, collaboration, and time to market.
Adaptant’s Role in the Project
Adaptant is taking the lead role in technology use case validations and will lead the Vehicle IoT use case, expanding on its earlier work in the RestAssured project. Adaptant further leads the Impact Generation work package and is responsible for the overall impact generation of the project — taking the role of Exploitation and Innovation Manager for the project as a whole, where it will be responsible for, amongst other responsibilities, providing leadership in IPR management. Adaptant will further leverage its expertise in distributed data processing architectures, mobile edge computing, and the IoT to contribute edge capabilities to the Runtime Implementation.
